2014 in review

Ok my annual: YEAR in REVIEW post! If you’re curious on the past annual reviews click on the tag “Review” or check out 2013, 2012 or 2011!

We started 2014 with a Mind Speaks redesign. Took a week to get all of the work organized on the site but it came out pretty neato! I won Houston Gaymers Favorite Female Gaymer! The voting happened at the end of 2013 but the award show happened in January of 2014. My husband and I have been part of Gaymers since end of 2012 and made so many besties! Every month we go to the 3DS night and play with about 50-60 gamers! Street pass heaven!

Pokemon XY came out so our friends threw a Pokemon party! Everyone made Pokemon type food so I made Poke Puffs! Took cream puffs and covered them with colored chocolate!

My craft room/office starting to became a reality! Hubby started to make me a tall island in our shared office. I love my work space and currently using the table as I type this out!

Hubby, Kim and I went to Anime Matsuri to see Nightmare live. Since I stopped working with a visual kei site I haven’t been to any vk lives but I couldn’t miss Nightmare. I’ve been a fan since high school!

Jody’s birthday and the new season premiere of Game of Thrones! So we mashed up his bday with a themed party! I made cupcakes with family crest banners! I also got him a cake from the pastry shop that made our wedding cake!

Our friends threw their first Gaymer Drag Show! Oh man, everyone looked amazing and performed to fun songs – the added gaming theme made it even more special.

Mind Speaks (our craft blog) had their first event at Houston’s Pop Shop! We had an amazing time and hope to do it again soon!

Hubby and I helped my friend build a cardboard castle for charity. The event was for youth who have cancer. It was an amazing event! At the end of the day we gave the castle to a litle boy who seemed the most excited about posing with the castle.

Ah July, my birthday month!! We went to New York for the very first time!!! We saw Alan Cumming in CABARET and Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Best birthday ever!!!

Hubby’s dad and little brother came to Texas to visit us! We spent the weekend in Galveston – awesome weekend with the Robertsons!!!

My side of the office is finally looking more complete! Awesome husband who spent hours shopping with me and putting this together.

Mind Speaks was asked again to teach a class at Houston Pop Shop. I taught some brides to make their own wedding invites at home. Not only do these have a personal touch, you can save some bucks making them yourself!

Homeowners for a whole year! Halloween was awesome, we spent the holiday with our friend Don, passing out candy and binge watching American Horror Story. We also celebrated 2 years being married and I FINALLY changed my last name to my husband’s – Robertson.

Thanksgiving with my parents (although I didn’t take any pics). Weather started to get colder so Tomo has been cuddling his blankie. Also started designing office Christmas card for my office.

Our first real Christmas with decor and lights at the house! My sister, Kat finished schoo, also I finally became an adult and got new glasses. You can read more about Christmas break over here.

You did so many fun and cool things last year! I love that you guys do themed parties like Pokemon and Game of Thrones 😀 I’m also jealous that you have a 3DS night every month. I only get StreetPasses at Anime cons now!

That’s awesome that you went to NY for your birthday. Looks like it was a fun trip! Your side of the office is also looking great 🙂 I remember your entry about the wedding invites class too! Aah, they look so pretty.

One of these days I’ll probably change my last name, haha. It’s been 3 years, and I haven’t changed it yet.

I hope your 2015 will be just as fun!

OMGOSH I am so jealous of your craft room. I don’t have the room right now for that but hopefully someday soon… That looks like a very tall table though. Do you have a special chair to go with it?
