goodbye google reader – hello bloglovin

It has become my daily routine to log onto my lappy or iphone everyone morning and look at blog updates on Google Reader or Greader as I like to call it. This morning when logging on I saw a pop up window stating that Greader was shutting down on July 1st. *panic gasps* How else would I see my blog rss feeds?! Kim uses bloglovin so I decided to give it a try. I added my blogs I follow/comment AND I also added my blog for those who want to add and follow me! You can import from google reader to bloglovin here.

Follow on Bloglovin

Bloglovin is going to take some getting used to – I also need to download the mobile app. If you guys use bloglovin, let me know so I can add your link to my feed!!

    Wow, omg thanks letting me know about three-words.net! In all honesty… I thought it was too good to be true so the first few times you told me I thought it was an evil virus hiding in that url =/ I know, I’m so pessimistic! I didn’t think it could possible be true! But thanks so much!

    And I use Google Reader too, I’m going to be so sad D: I use google reader though feedly (which is amazingly pretty) so I need to look into some more options. I might have to consider bloglovin’ too.

    @Jessica, oh no lots of my friends use three-words.net including my blog friend Carol over at http://the-exquisisticbox.com

    Its so easy to use them, if you have a domain they will host it as well or you can just use a free subdomain!

    I am sooo bummed about google reader!!! I just downloaded bloglovin on my iphone but I follow so many blogs it isn’t as organized as the folder option on greader ;o;

    @Mija,
    Ah, I just realized, I can’t technically reply to your comment specifically with posterous, so another reason to not like them. And I know, feedly is pretty awesome! They are going to let people import their Greader feeds and I guess host their own system.

    Which plugin do you use specifically? I just realized that I usually sign up for the followup comments, it is pretty nice. But I do get notifications when other people comment in general (not just within a specific comment thread)

    @Jessica, I love feedly!! You are a life saver!!

    You don’t have to sign up for the post comments unless you want an email when everyone posts – you should get an email reply when I reply back….or well thats the idea ^^;;
    Here is the wordpress plugin: http://blog.2i2j.com/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment

    Allows graphics to be added to reply comments as well!

    @Mija,

    Mija! I finally moved! url: http://gaucheously.net Thanks so much for recommending me Three-words, Misaki set up my domain very fast, but I was really slow with actually uploading things. But I got everything up and to my liking, so it’s all good xD

    I have bloglovin, but I don’t really promote it XD I just leave a button on my sidebar so people will stop asking how they could follow me (and they usually mean it in a way that I have to follow them back).

    I still need to make time to start using Bloglovin, though… Life’s been so busy T__T;

    Mija Reply:

    @nyuu, yeah I never thought about people actually following this blog, but I am super organized about the blogs I follow on google reader. Just going to try out bloglovin – although the iphone app isn’t as organized as google reader app was ;o;

    I read your new post – your life is busy, please take care!!! <3

    Oh I have bloglovin’. but I don’t really use it. I just put it there on my blog’s side bar for people who want to follow my blog on it, lol.

    I actually prefer Bloglovin’ over Google Reader. Google Reader looked a little outdated. I loved how Bloglovin was more simplified and displayed a thumbnail if an entry had a picture in it.

    I hope you’ll like it!

    I was pretty surprised to see them letting go of Google Reader. I know a lot of people who use it, but I guess it’s not enough. I’ve been using bloglovin for a while though, and it’s a pretty good way to keep up with everyone’s blog 🙂

    I’m going to have to get more used to using bloglovin’ due to the death of Greader. It’s kind of frustrating since I was so at home there; however, it’s probably good that I do a little feed cleaning.

    @Tori, Feedly is really pretty on their mobile app! So far its the closest to greader!!

    I have a bloglovin but I don’t normally use it.
    I think I’ll try to actively use it soon though.

    My only problem is, My phone doesn’t support the app and I can’t find the unfollow button when I’m browsing through my mobile web browser. D:

    Mija Reply:

    @Gretch, Mishi suggested feedly and they have a pretty app!! Bloglovin’s app is kinda unorganized if you follow lots of different blogs under different categories.
