Mind Speaks press!

Life has been a tad busy, mainly freelancing for my friend’s restaurant, my sister is engaged so I am working on her invites, work and now my kid has started day care. She is in the early toddler preschool and it has only been 5 months and already she picked up lots of words, started to “use” the toilet and started to do art projects! It’s adorable but also emotional because she is totally a kid now, no longer a baby!!! More about that later, I wanted to let you guys know our Usagi event has been featured on some cool blogs!

Megan from A Geeky Gal posted about our event on her post over here. She also won and posted an unbagging video about our Usagi bag over here!! Check out her new youtube channel!!!

Hannah also posted an interview with me last week on Ruby Wings over here! Her blog is really cool, she has done so many interesting interviews with other geek ladies!

The lovely Spokhette over at Nerdette at Large over here~!! I’ve been a follower of her blog and instagram for a few years now so I was really excited to answer her interview.

Super awesome bloggers, I am really honored that people liked the Usagi event we threw!!!!! Maybe we can do another event when things calm down a bit. I hope you guys had a wonder holiday and new year. I need to work on my year in review post soon.

Easter Eevee Plush

Japan released the precious Easter Eevee and Pikachu plushes. I panicked looking for a shopping service to grab one for my kid. She loves her giant Eevee from build a bear and she has a 6 inch TOMY ToysRus edition as well. So I thought this would be a different and cute version for her to have.

I found a how-to guide from Nintendo Soup on how to order from Amazon JP from the official Pokemon Center. I ordered the Easter Eevee and in came in yesterday morning! The item costed ¥1,600 plus some shipping. Now if you try to find the item, people are charging up to ¥3,600 or more.

First off, using Amazon Japan was easy, Pokemon Center account shipped worldwide and use DHL express so only took a few days to arrive with up to the minute shipping info.

They packaged it well, and the actual product was really cute. It is made really well compared to the other Eevee plushies Vera has. The color is a light, pastel brown and the detail work is really nice. The plush is a bit smaller than I thought sitting smaller than the 6 inch TOMY ones but he is pretty sticky which is nice!

I handed it right to Vera or Poogie as we call her and she squealed. She doesn’t really talk just yet but does baby babble and exclaim alot. She hugged her new Eevee and yelled “EEVEE, SIT!”

Threw me off but it was so adorable!! I wish I took a video of the moment.

Halloween & 4 years of marriage

I can’t believe it has been 4 amazing years already. Alot has changed within these 4 years of marriage: we both got new jobs, we bought a house and we made a baby! It has been a roller coaster of emotion. My dude has been my best friend who understands my quirks, especially during our pregnancy – his patience amazes me. Very lucky to have met my match in nerdiness and obsessions.

Halloween happened and we got to decorate our house. Vera wore her Leia buns and greeted kids at the door. She liked looking at everyone’s costumes.

I can’t wait for next year, Vera will have a favorite character that she will want to dress up as I am sure. Right now, she is obsessed with Daniel the tiger’s neighborhood on PBS, Tangled the tv show, Elena the Princess of Avalor, and Sophia the First. Her favorite movies are Frozen and Moana. We noticed she loves music, especially girl power ballads like Moana’s How Far I’ll Go and Frozen’s Let it Go.

Vera’s newborn shoot

I’m going to be posting some back dated items that I’ve had in my drafts section. And away we go…..

My very awesome friend Andrea took some newborn pics of Vera, she was also our wedding photographer. She was only a week old when we took these!! Andrea aka EthanAvery has an awesome home studio in Houston if anyone is looking for a local studio to visit.

Here are some of my favorite images.

Having a kid has restricted some of my online time. I think I am getting a hang of balancing now. Off to comment on blogs now!
