Easter Eevee Plush

Japan released the precious Easter Eevee and Pikachu plushes. I panicked looking for a shopping service to grab one for my kid. She loves her giant Eevee from build a bear and she has a 6 inch TOMY ToysRus edition as well. So I thought this would be a different and cute version for her to have.

I found a how-to guide from Nintendo Soup on how to order from Amazon JP from the official Pokemon Center. I ordered the Easter Eevee and in came in yesterday morning! The item costed ¥1,600 plus some shipping. Now if you try to find the item, people are charging up to ¥3,600 or more.

First off, using Amazon Japan was easy, Pokemon Center account shipped worldwide and use DHL express so only took a few days to arrive with up to the minute shipping info.

They packaged it well, and the actual product was really cute. It is made really well compared to the other Eevee plushies Vera has. The color is a light, pastel brown and the detail work is really nice. The plush is a bit smaller than I thought sitting smaller than the 6 inch TOMY ones but he is pretty sticky which is nice!

I handed it right to Vera or Poogie as we call her and she squealed. She doesn’t really talk just yet but does baby babble and exclaim alot. She hugged her new Eevee and yelled “EEVEE, SIT!”

Threw me off but it was so adorable!! I wish I took a video of the moment.

Say Hello to Vera

Pregnancy was an adventure, an emotional roller coaster with lots of cravings for chocolate milkshakes. For almost 10 months, my body slowly started to change and grow. By 6 months I finally had a cute belly bump and the last trimester felt so short, within one day I went from a prego chick into a new mama. No one tells you how weird recovery is, or how awkward breast feeding can be…OR how everyone in your delivery room will see you naked!!

hellovera
Labor didn’t take long, in under an hour I had my very own squishy purple baby plopped onto my chest. I was so lucky my delivery nurse and husband were so supportive and coached me the whole way. Thanks to epidural I didn’t feel anything during the labor. The aftermath, the recovery was another story. Wowza!!! I won’t go into details but this whole new life event has made me appreciate my mom more.

We named her Vera, my maiden name. Dad only had 3 daughters and no sons to continue our last name. Our family name always meant alot to me, since I got married and changed to my husband’s name I did feel a little identity crisis, this really seemed perfect to name her Vera.

Here is my last prego picture at 40 weeks. My mom made Vera a baby wreath with her nursery theme: Totoro!

I’m learning how to take care of this little strange human. My husband is back at work and my mom should be coming back this weekend, leaving me alone with the baby during the day. She sleeps for only a few hours at a time and then wakes up for food. She sleeps more during the day – she is a little vampire and is more active at night. My poor husband is lacking sleep! But she is funny, she giggles alot and gives this cute gummy smile when she is boobie milk drunk.

I love her gummy smile sleeping pose

She is changing and growing so fast! Almost at 3 weeks old and I notice new things about her daily!! I finally got a chance to update on here…she is now crying. Time for a diaper change!

Meeting the baby tomorrow

Its May 19th, I’m home listening to the thunder. Sounds like there is going to be a storm – the perfect day to spend my last moments with my baby in my tummy.

I will be 40 weeks tomorrow and the doctor is a little worried that she is growing so much. So, looks like I am going to be induced tomorrow morning. Going to bed tonight is going to be difficult. Scared, nervous, excited just too many emotions running through my head. I’ve had some small contractions for the last couple of weeks and if that us any indication for the pain I will be having tomorrow….then wowza. I am seriously a wimp, and have low pain tolerance.

I know women have been having babies since the dawn of time but I just never thought this day will come. The only thing keeping me positive is that I will meet our daughter soon. That by the end of this weekend – all the stretch marks, throwing up, the peeing while coughing and waddling around will be worth it. Also, thank goodness for my husband, every night when I am wincing in pain from contractions he is rubbing my back, helping me in and out of bed and going on late night runs to Whataburger!!! My sisters and parents are another pillar of strength for me. Their excitement puts me at ease and helps me try to enjoy these last few hours before I go to the hospital.

Here are the last few belly pics. Weeks 36 – 39.
